Dashboard

Navigate the dexcost dashboard to understand your AI agent costs.

Overview

The main dashboard shows a high-level summary of your AI spend:

  • Total Spend — aggregate cost across all customers and task types
  • Task Count — total tracked tasks in the period
  • Average Cost per Task — helps identify expensive workflows
  • Cost Efficiency — percentage of spend going to retries vs productive work
  • Coverage Gap Alert — shows if invoice reconciliation found untracked spend

The overview also includes a cost trend chart and top customers table.

Insights

Forward-looking views on cost behaviour and reliability:

  • Cost per outcome — reliability-adjusted cost per successful task
  • Non-LLM share — how much of spend is non-LLM (services, compute)
  • Efficiency score — composite 0–100 score of cost health
  • Retry amplification — how much retries multiply your baseline cost
  • Cost forecast — projection of spend trend over the selected period
  • Cost decomposition — variance narratives that explain spend swings

Cost Health

Analyzes retry costs, failure rates, and cost efficiency across your workflows.

  • Summary cards — Total Spend, Retry Cost, Failure Cost, Retry % of spend
  • Cost by Reason — horizontal bar chart showing which retry reasons cost the most (rate_limit, timeout, parse_error, etc.)
  • Cost Trend — daily retry cost over the selected period (7/30/90 day filter)
  • Cost by Task Type — server-paginated table with retry rate per workflow
  • Highest Cost Tasks — the individual tasks with the highest retry costs

Cost Intelligence

Customer-level profitability using revenue minus cost across all customers:

  • Total Profit — revenue minus cost across all customers
  • Contribution — how much the top customers contribute
  • Breakeven Rank — at which customer rank you break even
  • Active Loss — total loss from unprofitable customers
  • Cumulative Profit Distribution — the classic profitability chart
  • Customer Table — per-customer cost, revenue, margin, with sorting and pagination

Profitability data requires revenue import — use Settings > Revenue or the CSV import to add customer revenue data.

Customers

Per-customer cost breakdown:

  • Task count, total cost, LLM cost, non-LLM cost, retry cost per customer
  • Click a customer to see their task history and cost breakdown by task type
  • Sortable and paginated

Tasks

A flat list of every tracked task across customers and workflows:

  • Task type, customer, status, total cost, LLM cost, non-LLM cost
  • Filter by customer, task type, status, time range
  • Drill into a single task to see its events and retry lineage

Anomalies

Detects unusual cost patterns automatically:

  • Cost spikes — when a customer or task type suddenly costs more than usual
  • Configurable thresholds
  • Available on Pro plan and above

Statements

Generate and deliver usage statements to your customers.

  • Statements tab — generate statements per customer/period, view details, download CSV/PDF
  • Profitability tab — margin dashboard for customers with revenue data
  • Settings tab — auto-generation schedule, branding (logo, colors, footer), spend threshold for webhooks

Branded PDF templates (minimal, detailed, executive) are available on Growth plan.

Reconciliation

Compare your tracked costs against provider invoices:

  • Import CSV invoices from OpenAI, Anthropic, or AWS
  • Connect provider API keys for one-click usage import
  • Run reconciliation to find gaps between billed and tracked costs
  • Coverage gap tracking with fix snippets

  • API keys — create, revoke, and manage keys for SDK ingestion
